Breastfeeding May Help Protect You From Breast Cancer

Previous reseach has shown that women who have fewer than 4 children or delay childbirth until after age 25, have increased risks of breast cancer. This research also showed that having more children or having children at an early age only helped protect from the hormone fueled cancers and not the harder to treat forms.

A recent study of 2493 women (both black and white) over the age of 55 has shown that breastfeeding provided additional protection against both types of tumors regardless of when the woman gave birth or number of children.

With the occurance of breast cancer seeming to grow each year, this is much awaited positive news for many new and expectant moms.
