Go Ahead - Burn Your Bra

Go Ahead - we dare you - burn (or throw out) those old frumpy nursing bras as you'll no longer need them! Our friends at PassionSpice Nursing and Maternity Lingerie have rescued modern moms from the frumpy, unattractive and lets face it - embarrassing nursing bra.

Finally, someone realized that we no longer want to wear the nursing and maternity lingerie that our mothers wore. They realized that being a mom doesn't mean you stop being a stylish and sexy woman.

We so excited to be able to give a $50 gift certificate to PassionSpice to one lucky mama. It's easy to enter to win. Just check out the PassionSpice website and comment on this post letting us know which of their nursing or maternity products you like best and why. If you want a bonus additional entry to this contest - just go to our website too and comment on this post telling us which of our products you like best - we'll give you an additional entry doubling your change of winning. Then If you have a blog/website we'd love you to link to this post too (but not needed to enter). We'll be selecting one random winner on Friday 3/6.

Hope you decide to enter and we can't wait to read your comments! Thanks so much to our friends at PassionSpice for sponsoring this contest.

Book Club - The Milk Memos

Finally, the first book review in our SuperMomz Book Club! Are you planning to return to work after your maternity leave or struggling to balance work and family? If so - read on - as you won't want to miss this great book.

This week I've been reading The Milk Memos: How Real Moms Learned to Mix Business with Babies-and How You Can, Too. When I first picked up this book, I thought it would be a fictional story and not at all useful to a new nursing mom about to return back to work. However after just a few pages I realized how wrong I was!

The book provides vital information for moms feeling torn about returning to work after maternity leave. Alongside valuable tips and checklists, this book cleverly features the daily pumping room diary of several nursing moms at IBM. As you follow their story you'll learn how they deal with the challenges of balancing work with their family. They'll inspire and energize you as you read how they survive pumping and overcome all the obstacles that come their way.

I laughed as I remembered dragging my breastpump to work and trying to find time to get away to pump just as the Milk Mamas do. Their diary entries not only cover breastfeeding/pumping but also the guilt of leaving the baby, finding childcare providers, establishing a schedule and negotiating with your employer.

The Milk Memos captured the exact feelings and emotions I experienced and brought back some fond memories too. I'm sure I'll be giving this book as a shower gift in the new future and recommend it as a must-have for all working moms. Have you read it? Post your thoughts/review below to share with your fellow nursing moms.
